Doing the manual in french or any other language is VERY VERY hard. i translated it using online programs but none are great because i had ppl who know french read it and they said it wasn't accurate. To get somebody to spend time editing the french version without pay is close to impossible. SO, i have scrapped that idea.

Notice the TITLE for each post pop out at you before the text under it does. That is actually intentional. Most of the titles are bizarre enough to get you engaged in reading what is below it.

It makes no difference to me if someone makes the box or not but its there as a way to make you stay longer cause as you know, we all like to build things.

ANOTHER ELEMENT--> The service and support hotline is my #. If someone decides to call I will be on the other end to offer you a solution to your query. If i miss your call there is an automated answering machine that askes you to leave your name number and query. I will return your call. I am looking into calling the phone company and asking them to CHANge the name that shows up on the display as "the power of three inc." just for that day so when you receive a call you from me you will see that ID on your display.

hi all -regarding post-grad discussions, how about the tuesday sessions from 4-5pm? If people need to leave, they can go, and others can stay to ask more questions. maybe we don't need much more that an hour anyways. wednesday April 04, 5pm-6:30pm, no change. will

Some of you have expressed an interest in discussing things related to post-graduation life, topics such as graduate school, paying the bills while working as an artist, applying for grants and exhibitions, etc. i've decided to organize several casual Q&As/workshops outside of class to address these things. The discussions can be very informal and we could have them either in my studio or at the bar in the student center (forgot the name of that place, its downstairs).

These are the dates and times i'm planning, and wanted to make sure that those of you who are really interested in this information don't have scheduling conflicts.

patrick -- i like this recent image better than the previous one with the text, it appears, at least on the screen, to have a more dark, complex palette. but somehow the looser underpainting is moving you away from the medieval art reference. is this what you want? i liked that you were exploring historical painting and trying to paint immediate, current events with stiff imagery and symbolism. you're floating a bit now. the imagery is too anonymous to read either as referencing older painting or based on current events. i think you need to use clearer references from both sources in order to make the work more contemporary. in other words, you have to come to terms with the fact that contemporary painting is driven by ideas and conceptualism.

julie -- i think the pop culture reference to 10-step programs could be interesting. depending on what type of "guilt" you're dealing with and what tone of 10-step program you want to appropriate, the blending could be revealing. do you have any programs in mind? do you see any connections to the ritual qualities associated with bathing that you seem to be interested in? (btw, do you mean rubbing alcohol, or liquor?) these are content issues you need to deal with. technically, you should think about how much alcohol you will need to actually bathe in it? and whether it is safe to do this. maybe you can position the camera in such a way so that you can frame your body/face in relation to the bathtub/sink so that you don't need to use a huge amount of liquid. -- will

Okay so my project is a little 10 step program to dealing with guilt.
I have really been working on my clothes line of self portraits,
I am really thinking that the video portion will serve only as a backdrop to give the viewer the opportunity for further reading of the imagery. I have recently tried shooting some footage of cleansing myself with the physical matter that my guilt stems from. My first time shooting i have chosen alcolhol, I like the image of bathing in alcolhol. To go in different directions I was thinking of bathing in edible materials. Maybe I should focus on one thing and if this is the case i think it would be alcohol. Any feedback would be helpful! Thanks
